The Real Test Isn't Install Day. It's Week Six.

Anyone can make extensions look good on day one. Fresh hair, fresh blowout, good lighting, a client who's excited and hasn't lived in the install yet.

The real test is six weeks later. That's when you find out if the work actually held up.

What a clean grow-out actually looks like.

Pull the hair up. That's the real test — not a styled-down photo, a bun.

In a clean grow-out, the bead lines are still tight and evenly placed. The rows haven't shifted or twisted. Nothing is visible, nothing is slipping, nothing makes the client think twice before she puts her hair up at the gym or on a hot day.

It still looks like this is just her hair. That's the whole point.

This is what stylists actually look for.

Show another stylist a fresh install and they'll tell you it looks nice. Show them a six-week grow-out and they'll tell you if you actually know what you're doing.

That's not an accident. A clean grow-out is proof of every decision made on install day — section size, bead placement, tension, how the structure was built to move with the hair instead of against it. Get any of that wrong, and week six shows it. No amount of good styling hides a bad grow-out.

Why this is the whole business model.

A client who pulls her hair up at week six and still feels confident is a client who rebooks. Every 6-8 weeks, like clockwork, without you chasing her down.

That's not luck. That's the result of an install built with judgment, not just steps — the same distinction we talked about back in our first post on this. Technique gets you through day one. Judgment is what's still holding at day forty.
