Questions I Get Asked Before Every Class

Stylists gathered at Polished Mane Salon during The Polished Method extension class

Every stylist who's seriously considering this asks some version of the same questions. Here are the honest answers.

"Do I need experience with extensions to sign up?"

No. The class is built for stylists at different starting points — some come in having never touched hair extensions, some come in knowing a different method and wanting to learn this one. Both leave with the same foundation.

What matters isn't where you're starting. It's that you're serious about doing the work right.

"Is two days really enough time?"

It's enough to leave knowing how to do a full install and removal on your own. Our first class proved that — two stylists, different starting points, both doing complete installs by the end of day two.

It's not enough to make you an expert overnight. But it's enough to give you the foundation and the judgment to build on — which is more than most multi-day certifications actually deliver.

"What do I need to do before I show up?"

You'll complete the online course before the in-person days. That's not optional — it's how we make sure every hour in the room goes straight to hands-on practice instead of orientation.

By the time you walk in, you'll already know the structure of how we teach and the why behind the method. The two days are for applying that, not introducing it.

"What's included in the price?"

The in-person intensive is $1,497 and includes the online course. If you want to do the online course only, that's $995 on its own. Both are a one-time cost — no renewal fees, no ongoing membership, no tier to maintain.

"Will I be able to charge for extensions after this?"

That's up to you and how you continue to practice. What we can tell you is that you'll leave with a real skill, not just a certificate. Whether you start taking extension clients the week after or spend time practicing first, you'll know what you're doing when you do.

"Why The Polished Method over other certifications?"

We're not going to compare ourselves to other programs. What we'll tell you is what this is: a methodology, not just a technique. You'll leave knowing why every decision you make matters — which means you can adjust when something isn't textbook, instead of guessing.

That's the difference between training that holds up in your chair and training that only worked on the mannequin.

The next intensive is August 16 and 17 in Long Beach. If you have a question that's not here, feel free to reach out to us directly on Instagram @thepolishedmethod.
